SDG&E is closely monitoring high-fire weather conditions that may prompt a Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS) to reduce the risk of wildfires in high-risk areas. The National Weather Service has issued a Red Flag Warning for San Diego County valleys and mountains, including Santee, El Cajon, and Lakeside, from 4 p.m. Monday, January 13th to 6 p.m. Wednesday, January 15th.
We intend to keep school in session, and teachers are prepared to continue with classroom learning and activities, even during the outage. Should an extensive outage affect transportation or our School Nutrition Program, we may be forced to close schools. We will notify you by posting messages on our website (LUSD Website) and our LUSD Facebook (LUSD Facebook) and send a message through Infinite Campus as soon as possible.
